Genus Acidiparvus [A.ci.di.par'vus] N.L. neut. adj. Acidum, sour, acid; N.L. masc. adj. parvus, small, unimportant; N.L. masc. n. Acidiparvus, Acidiparvus, a genus in the acid-loving Acidobacteriota with small genome size
This is a novel genus describing a genome streamlined Acidobacteriota lineage having extremely small genome size and limited metabolic capacities, mainly found in freshwater environments.
Holophagaceae Acidiparvus lacustrisTs seqco.de/i:33344
Species Acidiparvus lacustrisTs [la.cus'tris] N.L. masc. adj. lacustris, of a lake, resides in freshwater environments
This is a novel genus of a genome streamlined Acidobacteriota, under the family Holophagaceae. They are the only genus under the family Holophagaceae to have extremely small genome size and limited metabolic capacity. Acidoparvus lacustris are exclusively found in freshwater lakes. We assembled two complete genomes from Acidoparvus lacustris, in which we will choose one as the type genome.
