Abstract
The draft genome sequence of “ Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus” strain YNJS7C, isolated from a navel orange tree in Yunnan Province, China, is presented here. The YNJS7C strain has a genome size of 1,258,986 bp, with a G+C content of 36.6%, 1,174 predicted open reading frames, and 53 RNA genes.

Draft Genome Sequence of “ Candidatus Sulcia muelleri” Strain KPTW1 from Kolla paulula , a Vector of Xylella fastidiosa Causing Pierce’s Disease of Grapevine in Taiwan

Citation
Shih et al. (2019). Microbiology Resource Announcements 8 (2)
Names
Ca. Sulcia muelleri
Abstract
The genome of “ Candidatus Sulcia muelleri” strain KPTW1 from Kolla paulula , a vector of Xylella fastidiosa that causes Pierce’s disease (PD) of grapevine in Taiwan, was sequenced. The strain has a genome size of 253,942 bp, GC content of 22.7%, 237 predicted protein-coding genes, and 34 RNA genes.

Draft Genome Sequence of “ Candidatus Spirobacillus cienkowskii,” a Pathogen of Freshwater Daphnia Species, Reconstructed from Hemolymph Metagenomic Reads

Citation
Bresciani et al. (2018). Microbiology Resource Announcements 7 (22)
Names
“Spirobacillus cienkowskii”
Abstract
We report here the near-complete genome sequence of “ Candidatus Spirobacillus cienkowskii,” a spiral-shaped, red-pigmented uncultivated bacterial pathogen of Daphnia spp. The genome is 2.74 Mbp in size, has a GC content of 32.1%, and contains genes associated with bacterial motility and the production of carotenoids, which could explain the distinctive red color of hosts infected with this pathogen.

Draft Genome Sequence of “ Candidatus Bathyarchaeota” Archaeon BE326-BA-RLH, an Uncultured Denitrifier and Putative Anaerobic Methanotroph from South Africa’s Deep Continental Biosphere

Citation
Harris et al. (2018). Microbiology Resource Announcements 7 (20)
Names
“Bathyarchaeota”
Abstract
Metagenomic sequencing of fracture fluid from South Africa recovered a nearly complete “ Candidatus Bathyarchaeota” archaeon genome. The metagenome-assembled genome of BE326-BA-RLH contains genes involved in methane metabolism and dissimilatory nitrate reduction.

Draft Genome Sequence of “ Candidatus Moanabacter tarae,” Representing a Novel Marine Verrucomicrobial Lineage

Citation
Vosseberg et al. (2018). Microbiology Resource Announcements 7 (15)
Names
Ca. Moanabacter tarae
Abstract
The Tara Oceans Consortium has published various metagenomes of marine environmental samples. Here, we report a contig of 2.6 Mbp from the assembly of a sample collected near the Marquesas Islands in the Pacific Ocean, covering a nearly complete novel verrucomicrobial genome.

Genome Sequence of a Plant-Pathogenic Bacterium, “Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris” Strain TW1

Citation
Town et al. (2018). Microbiology Resource Announcements 7 (12)
Names
Ca. Phytoplasma asteris
Abstract
A draft genome sequence is presented for a strain of “ Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris” affecting canola plants in Saskatoon, Canada. This phytopathogenic bacterium was determined to be a 16SrI strain and features 16S rRNA-encoding gene sequence heterogeneity.

Draft Genome Sequence of “Candidatus Izimaplasma sp.” Strain ZiA1, Obtained from a Toluene-Degrading and Iron-Reducing Enrichment Culture

Citation
Kim et al. (2018). Microbiology Resource Announcements 7 (8)
Names
Ca. Izimaplasma
Abstract
Here, we report the draft genome sequence of “ Candidatus Izimaplasma sp.” strain ZiA1 (1.88 Mb and 29.6% G+C content).
