Polarisedimenticolaceae was previously known as GTDB family Mor1. The type genus of this family is Polarisedimenticola, which was predicted to be a facultative or aerotolerant anaerobe that degrades proteins and respires oxygen, nitrate, sulfur/polysulfide or metal-oxides based on genome analysis.
