Description
This monotypic genus belongs to the family Velamenicoccaceae, order Velamenicoccales, class Velamenicoccia, phylum Omnitrophota. The genus description is currently the same as for the species Phelpsiimicrobium noxiivivens, the nomenclatural type for the genus.
