Taxonomy

Description
Archaea that inhabit circumneutral, terrestrial geothermal systems and are likely hyperthermophiles. Genomes of this species lack annotated pathways for synthesis of membrane lipids, many amino acids, vitamins, and purines, suggesting they are likely to be symbiotic. Predicted to be obligately anaerobic and fermentative.

Submitter comments
Genome quality including completeness, contamination was evaluated using CheckM v1.0.12 .Twenty marker proteins were excluded from the estimation due to the inherent absence in all Panguarchaeum symbiosum MAGs.16S and 23S rRNA sequences from MAGs were called using RNAmmer v1.2. tRNAs were detected using v2.0.9.
