Description
Göker, 2022: Based on ‘NitrospinalesLücker et al., 2013. The description is identical to the one given for Nitrospinaceae Garrity et al. 2006 (Kuever et al., 2005).

Garrity et al. 2006 (In Kuever et al., 2005): The family Nitrospinaceae was circumscribed for this volume on the basis of phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA sequences; the family contains the genus Nitrospina (type genus). Description is the same as for the genus Nitrospina.
