Description
Nuryadi et al., 2024: Thallus forms blue-green fasciculate, thin layer mats in culture conditions. Filament typically very thin, straight or sometimes curvy. Sheath generally thin, colorless. Trichome blue-green, composed from barrel shaped-cells or sometimes almost isodiametric. Cell dimension usually longer (1.4–2.7 μm) than wide (1.2–1.5 μm), cells well separated by cross-walls, not granulated, heterocytes or other specialized cells absent. Apical cells rounded without calyptra. Forming spiral shape in nitrogen-depleted condition. Forming hormogonia by straight trichome fragmentation without necridic cell in reproduction process.
