Abstract
Abstract Natr.an.aer.o.vir.ga'ce.ae N.L. fem. n. Natranaerovirga, the type genus of the family, ‐ aceae ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n . Natranaerovirgaceae, the Natranaerovirga family. The family Natranaerovirgaceae includes obligately anaerobic fermentative bacteria from soda lakes. They are highly salt‐tolerant alkaliphiles utilizing carbohydrates as energy and carbon source. The family belongs to the order “Lachnospirales,” class Clostridia , and consists of a single genus Natranaerovirga . The family‐level status was established by phylogenomic analysis based on the Genome Taxonomy Database classification (GDTB). DNA G  +  C content (mol%) : 31.3–32.3 (whole‐genome sequence). Type genus : Natranaerovirga Sorokin et al. 2012, VL145. Taxonomic and Nomenclature Notes According to the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN), the taxonomic status of the family Natranaerovirgaceae is: synonym (last update, February 2025) * . Correct name: Lachnospiraceae LPSN classification: Bacteria / Bacillati / Bacillota / Clostridia / Eubacteriales / Lachnospiraceae The family Natranaerovirgaceae can also be recovered in the Genome Taxonomy Database (GTDB) as f__DSM-24629 (version v220) ** . GTDB classification: d__Bacteria / p__Bacillota_A / c__Clostridia / o__Lachnospirales / f__DSM-24629 * Meier‐Kolthoff et al. ( 2022 ).
