- [fa'brum] L. neut. adj. fabrum, of a craftsman or artisan and their work; in reference to the use of C58 to construct genetically modified plants, while also honoring the pioneer isolator of Agrobacterium (Smith) as well as other scientists with a Faber-related name in different languages, for example, Smith, Schmidt, Smet, Faivre, Farrand, Faure, Herrera, etc., who studied various aspects of Agrobacterium biology
