Register list for Polarisedimenticola svalbardensis gen. nov. sp. nov. and their lineage
Submitted by Loy, Alexander
Class Polarisedimenticolia
- Etymology
- N.L. masc. n. Polarisedimenticola, the type genus of the class; L. neut. pl. suff. -ia, ending to denote a class; N.L. neut. pl. n. Polarisedimenticolia, the Polarisedimenticola class
- Nomenclatural type
- Genus Polarisedimenticola
- Description
-
Polarisedimenticolia was previously known as GTDB class Mor1 or Acidobacteria subdivision 22. The type genus of this class is Polarisedimenticola, which was predicted to be a facultative or aerotolerant anaerobe that degrades proteins and respires oxygen, nitrate, sulfur/polysulfide or metal-oxides based on genome analysis.

Species Polarisedimenticola svalbardensisTs
- Etymology
- [sval.bar.den'sis.] N.L. masc. adj. svalbardensis, pertaining to Svalbard
- Nomenclatural type
- NCBI Assembly: GCA_014764515.1 Ts
- Description
-
Polarisedimenticola svalbardensis MAG AM4 was recovered from marine sediment from Van Keulenfjorden, Svalbard (sampling date: July, 2016, location: latitude: 77°32.260’ N longitude: 15°39.434’ E, water depth: 55 m, sediment depth: 0-5 cm, sediment temperature: − 1.7°C to + 3°C). Genome-based metabolic reconstruction suggested this species is a facultative or aerotolerant anaerobe that degrades proteins and respires oxygen, nitrate, sulfur/polysulfide or metal-oxides.
