Register list for Polarisedimenticola svalbardensis gen. nov. sp. nov. and their lineage

Submitted by Loy, Alexander

Class Polarisedimenticolia

Etymology
N.L. masc. n. Polarisedimenticola, the type genus of the class; L. neut. pl. suff. -ia, ending to denote a class; N.L. neut. pl. n. Polarisedimenticolia, the Polarisedimenticola class
Nomenclatural type
Genus Polarisedimenticola
Description
Polarisedimenticolia was previously known as GTDB class Mor1 or Acidobacteria subdivision 22. The type genus of this class is Polarisedimenticola, which was predicted to be a facultative or aerotolerant anaerobe that degrades proteins and respires oxygen, nitrate, sulfur/polysulfide or metal-oxides based on genome analysis.

Classification
Bacteria » Acidobacteriota » Polarisedimenticolia
References
Effective publication: Flieder et al., 2021 [1]

Order Polarisedimenticolales

Etymology
N.L. masc. n. Polarisedimenticola, the type genus of the order; L. fem. pl. suff. -ales, ending to denote an order; N.L. fem. pl. n. Polarisedimenticolales, the Polarisedimenticola order
Nomenclatural type
Genus Polarisedimenticola
Description
Polarisedimenticolales was previously known as GTDB order Mor1. The type genus of this order is Polarisedimenticola, which was predicted to be a facultative or aerotolerant anaerobe that degrades proteins and respires oxygen, nitrate, sulfur/polysulfide or metal-oxides based on genome analysis.
Classification
Bacteria » Acidobacteriota » Polarisedimenticolia » Polarisedimenticolales
References
Effective publication: Flieder et al., 2021 [1]

Family Polarisedimenticolaceae

Etymology
N.L. masc. n. Polarisedimenticola, the type genus of the family; L. fem. pl. suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Polarisedimenticolaceae, the Polarisedimenticola family
Nomenclatural type
Genus Polarisedimenticola
Description
Polarisedimenticolaceae was previously known as GTDB family Mor1. The type genus of this family is Polarisedimenticola, which was predicted to be a facultative or aerotolerant anaerobe that degrades proteins and respires oxygen, nitrate, sulfur/polysulfide or metal-oxides based on genome analysis.

Genus Polarisedimenticola

Etymology
[Po.la.ri.se.di.men.ti'co.la.] L. masc. adj. polaris, polar; L. neut. n. sedimentum, sediment; L. masc. suff. -cola, inhabitant, dweller; N.L. masc. n. Polarisedimenticola, an inhabitant of polar sediments
Nomenclatural type
Species Polarisedimenticola svalbardensisTs
Description
The genus description is the same as that of the type species, Polarisedimenticola svalbardensis.
Classification
Bacteria » Acidobacteriota » Polarisedimenticolia » Polarisedimenticolales » Polarisedimenticolaceae » Polarisedimenticola
References
Effective publication: Flieder et al., 2021 [1]

Species Polarisedimenticola svalbardensisTs

Etymology
[sval.bar.den'sis.] N.L. masc. adj. svalbardensis, pertaining to Svalbard
Nomenclatural type
NCBI Assembly: GCA_014764515.1 Ts
Description
Polarisedimenticola svalbardensis MAG AM4 was recovered from marine sediment from Van Keulenfjorden, Svalbard (sampling date: July, 2016, location: latitude: 77°32.260’ N longitude: 15°39.434’ E, water depth: 55 m, sediment depth: 0-5 cm, sediment temperature: − 1.7°C to + 3°C). Genome-based metabolic reconstruction suggested this species is a facultative or aerotolerant anaerobe that degrades proteins and respires oxygen, nitrate, sulfur/polysulfide or metal-oxides.
Classification
Bacteria » Acidobacteriota » Polarisedimenticolia » Polarisedimenticolales » Polarisedimenticolaceae » Polarisedimenticola » Polarisedimenticola svalbardensisTs

Assigned taxonomically: Flieder et al., 2021 [1]
