Taxonomy

Description
This genus belongs to the family Profunditerraquicolaceae, order Gygaellales, class Velamenicoccia, phylum Omnitrophota. Presence of genes encoding the tight-adherence complex is variable, and large ORFs are absent from genomes assigned to the genus. Assemblies originate from lake and groundwater. The nomenclatural type for the genus is Sherwoodlollariibacterium unditelluris.
