Description
Commonly found in marine habitats. Colonies are pink coloured. Cells are rod shaped. Holdfast is present and flagella are absent. Cell divides by lateral budding. Fimbriae are not observed. Crateriform structures are present on the cell surface. Axenic cultures can be obtained, however loose viability on passaging.
