Taxonomy

Description
This family belongs to the order Omnitrophales, in the class Omnitrophia, phylum Omnitrophota. The presence of ADP/ATP translocase is variable within the family, but very large ORFs are frequently encoded by members of the family. High rates of carbon assimilation was observed for members of the family on root exudates and leaf litter. The nomenclatural type for the family is the genus Aquincolibacterium.
