Taxonomy

Description
Pink pigmented, oval to pear-shaped cells, form aggregates and divides by budding. Aerobic, marine, and mesophilic with optimum temperature for growth is 25 degrees Celsius, and grows in pH range of 6-10 (optimum pH 7.0). The type strain is JC737 isolated from the surface of a seagrass Halodule sp. from Tamil Nadu India. The genome of the type strain is deposited with accession number JAJKFV000000000 (GCA_020966775.1).
