Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence identity and biological properties, group 16SrXII encompasses several species, including ‘CandidatusPhytoplasma australiense’, ‘CandidatusPhytoplasma japonicum’ and ‘CandidatusPhytoplasma fragariae’.
