Taxonomy

Description
Planktophila aestivalis MRE-130 (ENA accession number GCA_965267825) was isolated from the epilimnion (0.5m depth) of Římov Reservoir, Czech Republic (date: 2021-07-19) and it is the only isolated representative of the species. It has a complete genome size of 1,384,434 bp with a GC content of 47.7% and coding density of 95.68%. It encodes for one rRNA operon and 38 tRNA genes. Recruitment analysis indicated that it prefers warmer waters due to its peak abundances in spring and summer in the surface water of the Římov Reservoir. The closest relative is Planktophila primaveralis MRE-185 with whom shares an average nucleotide identity of 86.8%. The Current GTDB classification (r220) is d__Bacteria; p__Actinomycetota; c__Actinomycetia; o__Nanopelagicales; f__Nanopelagicaceae; g__Planktophila; s__.
