Taxonomy

Description
Genus defined based on 16S rRNA phylogeny and phylogenomic analysis of 15 ribosomal proteins and the GTDB.
Notes
Originally described by Ji et al. (2021) as Candidatus Zemynaea. However, Bowman (2023) proposed the genus Zemynaea as a new genus for Massilia arenosa - which is considered validly published under the ICNP and a correct name. Therefore, the candidatus genus has been renamed Zemelea; i.e., derived from "Zemele", another of the names given to the goddess Zemyna.
