However, the type genome of the species Hepatobacter penaei was produced later in an unpublished source and first linked to this name in Chuvochina et al., 2023, FEMS Microbiology Letters. Consequently, the latter should be regarded as the effective publication for the names in this list, as reflected in the individual name pages. Importantly, this consideration does not change the date of priority for either name, because they genus name falls under the protection of Whitman et al., 2023, ISME Communications, and the priority of the species name is defined by date of notification and not by date of publication.
