Taxonomy

Description
Göker, 2022: Reflects a new circumscription of Rhodobacteraceae Garrity et al. 2006 nom. illeg. based on phylogenomic studies (Hördt et al., 2020; Liang et al., 2021). Contains the genera Albidovulum, Allgaiera, Cereibacter, Cypionkella, Defluviimonas, Frigidibacter, Fuscovulum, Gemmobacter, Haematobacter, Luteovulum, Methylarcula, Paenirhodobacter, Paracoccus, Pararhodobacter, Phaeovulum, Pseudorhodobacter, Rhodobaca, Rhodobacter, Roseibaca, Roseicitreum, Roseinatronobacter, Sinirhodobacter, Tabrizicola, Thioclava, and Wagnerdoeblera as indicated in Fig. 2 in [26]; some of the genera may be regarded as synonyms. The type genus is Paracoccus Davis 1969 (Approved Lists 1980).
